The perfectly cubed tofu comes to the table freshly fried. Don't be worried about the dried chillies as they're just there as a garnish. With a light dusting of seasoning, this makes for a great appetizer to the meal. The thin batter gives the dish just enough crunch. I'm not sure I'd come back just for this tofu dish, but there's still the dumplings! Though, do keep in mind there can be a bit of a line during lunch hour and on Friday nights.
Best consumed ... with a serving of New Shanghai's "Xiao Long Bao"
