Rōnin is tucked away behind a nondescript grey door, just off Gough Street, in Sheung Wan. If you didn't know it was there you'd walk straight past it~ The Scallop Kakiage is served with garlic scapes, jalapeno and lime. Kakiage, is in essence, a type of tempura, where different ingredients are mixed together in batter, before being deep fried. The scallop is fresh and light in among the crispy batter and vegetables. The kakiage is served with a jalapeno citrus sauce that gives it a delightful kick.
Best consumed ... with a glass of their Jidai Kurahachi (peanut sochu) and good company.
